What the work involves

This is entry-level AI training work aimed at students who are actively taking technical coursework. Day to day, you'll pick up tasks from a queue: writing a small program and documenting your reasoning, producing step-by-step solutions to problems in your subject area, rating two model responses against a rubric and explaining which is stronger, or flagging where a model's answer is confidently wrong. Some projects ask for original prompts designed to stress-test a model; others ask you to correct existing outputs line by line.

Volume and continuity vary. Projects open and close as clients fund them, so a heavy week may be followed by a quiet one. Contributors who write clean, specific justifications tend to get invited back to higher-paying queues; those who submit thin or templated rationales are usually rotated out quietly.

What the platform screens for

micro1's screening is AI-led and recorded. Expect an asynchronous interview where a voice agent asks about your coursework and then pushes on it — naming a data structure isn't enough, you'll be asked to walk through why you'd choose it. You may be asked to solve a small problem live or submit a short work sample. The screen is checking three things:

  • That your claimed coursework and skills are real and you can discuss them without notes
  • That you can explain your reasoning in clear written English, since the written rationale is the deliverable
  • That you understand instructions and rubrics rather than improvising

Unaided work is a hard requirement. Pasting model output into tasks meant to train models is the fastest way to be removed.

Logistics

Fully remote and fully asynchronous — no fixed shifts, no client calls. Most contributors work 5–20 hours a week around classes, and pay is hourly or per-task depending on the project. You'll need reliable internet, a laptop, and the ability to pass identity verification. Enrollment status is typically confirmed, and some projects are restricted to specific majors or class years.
