What the work involves

This is an individual-contributor Enterprise Account Executive seat, not an eval or annotation engagement — you own pipeline generation, discovery with senior operators and technical leaders, POC scoping alongside engineers, commercial negotiation, and signature. Day to day means outbound and relationship-led prospecting, running consultative cycles where you assemble the value thesis that unlocks budget, then expanding accounts past the first contract. Forecast accuracy and CRM hygiene are treated as part of the job, not admin overhead, and you're expected to route market signal back to product and GTM leadership.

What the screen actually looks for

Mercor's screening is an AI-led voice interview followed by human review of your record. It is structured to surface verifiable specifics: named deal sizes, sales cycle lengths, buying committees you navigated, quota attainment by year. Vague narrative answers about "building relationships" score poorly; the model asks follow-ups, so a claim like "$1.2M ACV in manufacturing" will be probed for who the economic buyer was, what the procurement path looked like, and what nearly killed the deal. Candidates who can talk fluently about both the C-suite framing and the technical scoping conversation tend to advance.

Logistics

  • US only — the listing restricts to US-based candidates.
  • 3+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience, ideally technical or platform products sold into the Fortune 500.
  • Pay observed in the $50–70/hr band for this posting; not guaranteed, and quota-carrying roles posted through the platform may convert to different compensation structures at offer stage.
  • High-autonomy startup environment — expect little inbound scaffolding and territory you may be building from scratch.

AI/ML, data, or professional-services selling experience is a stated nice-to-have, as is a history as an early or founding AE.
