You write prompts in Turkish that probe how a model behaves on sensitive subject matter — the kind of request where a careless answer causes real harm and an over-cautious refusal is also a failure. Then you classify prompts and conversations against a structured guideline document, which is usually a rubric of a dozen or more categories with edge-case notes that change from batch to batch. A large share of the job is the written justification: a short paragraph in English explaining why a Turkish phrasing counts as adversarial, what escalation pattern you saw across turns, or why a borderline item falls on one side of a policy line rather than the other.

The Turkish dimension matters more than a translation task would. Euphemism, regional slang, religious and political framing, honorifics used sarcastically, and phrasings that read as innocuous in literal English but carry a clear coded meaning to a native speaker — these are exactly what the project exists to surface. Reviewers are looking for people who can name why a phrasing lands differently in Turkish, not just assert that it does.

Mercor's screen is AI-led and typically involves a recorded conversational interview plus written samples. Expect Turkish fluency to be tested directly rather than taken on trust, and expect your English writing to be judged on whether a policy reviewer who speaks no Turkish could follow your reasoning. The other thing under examination is judgment on dual-use material: whether you can discuss a harmful topic analytically, at the level of category and pattern, without either flinching from it or drifting into producing the harmful content yourself. Prior red-teaming, trust and safety, or content moderation experience helps but is explicitly optional.
