What the work involves

Mercor is building high-fidelity replicas of a marketing org's tool surface — email, CRM, project management, ads platforms, GA4, CMS, product analytics, support queues — populated with realistic documents, dashboards, personas and deliberately planted problems. Your job on the Paid Growth track is to author the tasks that run inside them. A typical unit of work starts with something you actually did: a campaign whose CPA spiked for reasons the surface metrics hid, a budget reallocation across channels with conflicting attribution, a pipeline that looked healthy in the ads dashboard and broken in the CRM. You write the brief, specify exactly which artifacts and tool states have to exist for the task to be solvable, define the planted issue, and write the reference answer plus the criteria that separate a correct diagnosis from a plausible-but-wrong one.

The second half is evaluation. You review AI agent attempts and judge them against your own standard — which is harder than it sounds, because strong-sounding wrong answers are the norm. Scope spans campaign performance diagnosis, budget allocation, funnel and pipeline diagnosis, lead recovery, account-based marketing, and web and pricing journey optimization. Capabilities measured include diagnosis from messy or conflicting data, prioritization and tradeoffs, QA and reconciliation, triage and escalation, reporting, and orchestrating multi-step work across several tools.

What the platform screens for

  • A short multiple-choice knowledge screener specific to paid growth, completed before human review
  • Evidence you personally owned spend and outcomes — account sizes, channels, the decisions you made and what happened
  • Working fluency in Google Ads, Meta Ads and GA4, tested through specifics rather than tool lists
  • Written reasoning that holds up: most of the deliverable is the explanation of why a decision is right
  • Prior work on AI training environments, RL environments or simulated case studies, and Rubric Academy or Rubric Bootcamp certification, are both strongly preferred rather than required

Logistics

Remote and largely asynchronous, with observed rates in the $60–100/hr band — as reported for this listing, not a guarantee. Engagements of this type are typically contract, paid hourly against reviewed output, with flexible hours and a per-week commitment agreed at onboarding. Expect calibration threads or review sessions with other reviewers, since consistency across authors is what makes the evaluation data usable.
