What the work actually is

Each environment is a reconstruction of a marketing org's tool surface — social management platform, native analytics, CMS, ads, project management, support queue — populated with documents, dashboards, personas and deliberately planted problems. Your job is to supply the social media half of that: a brief drawn from a task you've genuinely run, a clear statement of what the task is testing, the specific artifacts the agent needs to see (a two-week publishing calendar with a conflict in it, a Sprout inbox with three messages that look routine and one that is a legal escalation, a share-of-voice pull where the competitor set is mis-scoped), and the reference answer with criteria that distinguish a strong response from a confident wrong one.

The capability areas you'll be writing against are named: diagnosing what happened from messy or conflicting data, prioritization and tradeoffs, planning and execution, QA and reconciliation, triage and escalation, research and evaluation, reporting, and multi-tool orchestration. Social scope covers inbox management, campaign and publishing execution, share-of-voice analysis, and the response judgment calls that come with owning a brand channel. A meaningful share of the time is spent reviewing agent attempts and explaining, in writing, why a given answer falls short.

What the platform screens for

  • Ownership, not oversight. They say it plainly: you have held the account and the inbox yourself. Directors who only reviewed a team's output tend not to clear this.
  • Tool fluency. Sprout Social or an equivalent management platform, plus comfort reading native platform analytics directly rather than a dashboard summary of them.
  • Written reasoning. Most of the deliverable's value is the explanation of why a decision is correct, so vague or purely assertive writing reads as a fail.
  • Prior environment-building — AI training environments, RL environments, simulated case studies — and Rubric Academy or Rubric Bootcamp certification are both stated as strongly preferred, not required.

Applicants complete a short multiple-choice knowledge screener specific to social media before human or AI review.

Logistics

Remote and asynchronous, contract, project-scoped. Observed pay for this listing is $60–100/hr, typically set at offer against depth of hands-on experience and prior environment work; it is not guaranteed. Volume varies with how many social environments are in production — most contributors treat it as part-time alongside other work rather than a full load, and turnaround expectations on individual task reviews are usually measured in days, not hours.
