The work

You listen to and read AI-generated music output, then score it against a detailed rubric supplied by the lab. Much of the day-to-day is close comparison: holding a generated lyric next to published Norwegian songs to flag suspicious similarity, judging whether a verse holds together as writing rather than as a string of plausible lines, and deciding whether word choice, slang, dialect coloring, and stress patterns read as natural or as translated-from-English filler. You will also assess prompt adherence — did the model deliver the genre, mood, structure, and constraints it was asked for — and write short justifications that another reviewer can follow.

Instructions and rubrics arrive in English; the material you judge and the notes you write about Norwegian usage are in Norwegian. Tasks vary across genres, from pop and hip-hop to viser, dansebandmusikk, and contemporary indie, so breadth across the Norwegian scene matters more than depth in any single niche.

What the screening looks for

  • Verifiable music credentials — songwriting credits, releases, performance history, composition training, or a body of music journalism. Expect follow-ups asking for specifics.
  • Native-level Norwegian, assessed through a Bilingual Competency Interview conducted in Norwegian, plus demonstrated comfort parsing dense English instructions.
  • Evaluation judgment — whether you can separate personal taste from rubric criteria, calibrate consistently, and explain a score rather than assert it.
  • Concrete scene knowledge — artists, subgenres, and how Norwegian lyric conventions differ from direct English translation.
