The work
You will listen to and read batches of AI-generated Punjabi music output and score it against a written rubric supplied by the partner lab. In practice that means three recurring tasks: comparing generated lyrics against published songs to flag near-copying or borrowed hooks, rating lyrics on craft dimensions (imagery, rhyme and meter, creativity, adherence to the prompt), and judging whether the language actually sounds like something a Punjabi writer or performer would produce — word choice, register, slang, Majhi vs. Malwai vs. Doabi coloring, Gurmukhi/Shahmukhi conventions where relevant, and code-mixing with Hindi or English.
Most ratings come with a short written justification in English. The rubric matters more than personal taste: you are being asked to apply someone else's quality standard consistently across hundreds of items, and to say clearly when an output is bad and why. Disagreements with rubric edge cases are useful signal, and there are usually channels to raise them.
What the screen looks for
- Verifiable music background. Songwriting, lyric writing, performing, composing, or music journalism — credits, releases, publications, or a clear body of work you can point to.
- Native or near-native Punjabi, tested directly through a Bilingual Competency Interview conducted in Punjabi, plus enough written English to follow dense instructions.
- Range across the contemporary Punjabi scene — not just chart hits, but sub-genres, older repertoire, and regional artists.
- Calibration and honesty. Expect probes on how you'd score a lyric that is technically clean but derivative, or fluent but tonally wrong.
- Headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening.
Logistics
Start is immediate, with the project running up to roughly six months. Hours are flexible and asynchronous — no fixed shifts, no cap on volume — and most contributors settle around 20 hours per week. Onboarding involves uploading a resume, completing the application steps including the Punjabi interview, then receiving task access within a few days. Pay has been observed at $15/hr; rates and volume are set by the platform and can change.
