What the work involves

You build the procurement problems that AI agents get graded on. That means writing scenarios drawn from real sourcing work — an RFP for managed IT services, a bid matrix with four suppliers who each interpreted the spec differently, a negotiation where the incumbent's pricing is lower but its SLA credits are worse. You then assemble the supporting artifacts: quotations, spec sheets, pricing tables, technical annexes, deliberately inconsistent in format the way real vendor submissions are.

The second half of the job is evaluation design. For each task you write a rubric an AI grading agent can apply: what a defensible recommendation looks like, which trade-offs must be surfaced, which errors are fatal (missing a total-cost-of-ownership driver, accepting a non-compliant bid) versus stylistic. Rubrics go through review with micro1's project team, and you should expect to revise based on how graders actually behave against your criteria.

What the screen looks for

  • Verifiable hands-on procurement history — categories owned, spend managed, contract types negotiated, whether you built the bid matrices yourself or reviewed someone else's.
  • Depth under follow-up. Expect the AI interviewer to push on specifics: how you normalized incomparable quotes, how you handled a scoring dispute, what your weighting rationale was.
  • Evaluation judgment. Can you separate a wrong answer from a differently-reasoned defensible one, and write that distinction down clearly enough for a machine to apply.
  • Written English at documentation standard. Much of the deliverable is prose.
