What the work involves

Most of your time goes to authoring, not reviewing. You take a situation you have actually lived — a stalled seven-figure renewal held up by security review, an ABM program that had to justify itself to a CFO mid-year, a category repositioning fought out across three regional brand teams — and turn it into a self-contained task an AI model can attempt. You then write the reference output a strong senior operator would produce, plus a rubric that spells out why one answer is credible and another only sounds credible.

The rubric is the hard part and the reason this role pays what it does. Generic GTM content is abundant; models are already fluent in MEDDIC vocabulary and ABM buzzwords. What is scarce is a written standard that catches when a deal strategy ignores how procurement actually sequences legal review, when an account plan names a champion who has no budget authority, or when a demand-gen recommendation assumes attribution data that no F500 stack cleanly produces. Expect scenario work spanning enterprise sales motions, brand and lifecycle marketing, and RevOps built on Salesforce Enterprise, Marketo, 6sense, Gong, and Outreach.

What the screen looks for

Mercor's intake is AI-led: a resume parse, then a conversational interview that probes specifics. Screeners push on named accounts and programs, deal sizes, cycle lengths, org structures you reported into, and how a decision actually got made — not the framework you would cite. Vague seniority claims collapse quickly under follow-up. Candidates who do well can describe one deal or campaign in unusual detail, including what went wrong, and can articulate the difference between a defensible answer and a plausible-sounding one.

Logistics

  • Fully remote, contract, asynchronous — no fixed shifts or standing meetings.
  • Contributors commonly work 10–20 hours per week; some engagements scale up during active data collection windows.
  • Observed pay for this listing is $60–70/hr, set per engagement and not guaranteed.
  • Work is paid per approved task or hourly depending on the project; onboarding includes calibration examples and rubric review before volume ramps.
