What the work involves

SDR work at an AI services company is narrower and more technical than generic B2B prospecting. Your accounts are AI labs, model providers, and enterprise ML teams, and your buyers are heads of data, research operations leads, and procurement contacts who have already been pitched by a dozen vendors this quarter. Day to day you build and clean target lists, research which teams are training or fine-tuning models, write sequences that reference something specific and true about the account, run calls and LinkedIn touches, qualify inbound replies, and hand off meetings with enough context that an AE can run them cold.

  • Outbound email, LinkedIn, and phone sequencing across a defined territory or segment
  • Account and contact research: who owns the data budget, what stage their model work is at
  • Qualification against fit criteria, then clean handoff notes into CRM
  • Tight feedback loops with AEs and marketing on messaging that lands and messaging that dies
  • Daily CRM hygiene — activity logging, sequence status, pipeline accuracy

What the platform screens for

micro1 runs an AI-led first interview, so expect a structured voice conversation rather than a resume skim. It probes for verifiable specifics: which tools you actually operated (Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, HubSpot, Salesforce), what your meeting-booked and reply rates were, how many accounts you carried, and what quota you were held to. Follow-up questions go one layer deeper than most candidates prepare for — if you claim a number, expect to be asked how it was measured and over what period. Clear spoken English, comfort improvising an objection response out loud, and the ability to describe your own qualification logic without falling back on script language all matter more here than polish.

Logistics

Roles are remote and generally structured as full-time contract engagements. Unlike the expert-evaluation quests elsewhere on Sidequest, SDR work is not async — you will be expected to hold consistent hours with meaningful overlap with a US or EU time zone, since prospecting depends on reaching people during their workday. Pay of $30–42/hr is what has been observed on comparable listings and may vary with segment, experience, and whether variable compensation is layered on top; treat it as a reference point, not a guarantee.
