What the work involves

You sit between a GenAI research team and the finished frame. Day to day you step through high-resolution video and stills — often enhanced, upscaled, or model-generated — and judge whether the output actually holds up under professional scrutiny. That means calling out compression artifacts, temporal noise, aliasing and stair-stepping, banding in gradients, grain structure that shifts between frames, and over- or under-sharpening masquerading as detail. Verdicts have to be written, not just felt: the team needs precise descriptive language it can turn into captions, rubrics, and training signal.

A meaningful share of the work is guideline design. You will build and revise evaluation templates so that a room of reviewers with different backgrounds converges on the same call, including on ambiguous cases where a flaw might be stylistic intent. You will also generate your own test samples for targeted probing and side-by-side comparison, and coordinate with other subject matter experts and program leads to keep visual consistency across sequences.
